Individual psychotherapy is an opportunity to examine your life and discover possibilities. Whether you are struggling with a specific challenge, longing for more satisfying relationships or embarking on the journey of self-discovery, psychotherapy can help. We will work together to identify your goals and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable to you. We will explore patterns and I hope to empower you to determine which patterns work for you and which patterns may be holding you back from achieving your goals. We have tremendous wisdom within us that can be difficult to hear – my hope is that you can tune into this wisdom to help guide you in your life. Therapy can be incredibly transformative. I have a deep respect for the courage it takes to seek therapy – the process can be difficult. I am here to walk with you as you delve into your experience and realize your strength.
Do you have career or personal goals you are trying to reach?
Change is hard. I know all about that little voice in the back of your mind that says, “You can’t do that – it’s too hard,” or “Let’s take the path of least resistance.” Life coaching is a process that can help you take charge of your life, embark on new challenges you may not have thought possible and achieve the life you imagine. We will work together to identify your agenda: Do you want a new job, but are overwhelmed and unable to take the steps? Do you feel dissatisfied in your career? Are you looking to make lifestyle changes (e.g., exercise, diet, etc.)? Do you want a better work/life balance? We can work on any and all of these in the context of life coaching.
Every parent wants to be the best parent they can be, and so it can be incredibly frustrating when your efforts are not yielding the results you want. You may feel unappreciated and exhausted. There are so many books about parenting out there that it can be overwhelming. Each child is a little bit different and so a “one-size fits all” approach just won’t work. Your interactions with your child do not have to feel like a power struggle and they don’t have to leave you feeling exhausted. There are ways to help all kinds of children reach their full potential. If you’d like help with a child with special needs or if you’d like to learn ways to help your child become a confident, well-rounded adult, I’d like to help.
Family Consultation for Children of Aging Parents
For the past five years I have worked in assisted living and nursing home settings providing therapy to residents and support to their families. I’ve seen the struggles families experience when they move their aging parent/relative from the home they’ve lived in for decades. It is an adjustment for everyone and it can be difficult to see your relative struggling and in pain. This process can be complicated by dementia. I can provide you with education about your family member’s reactions and information about dementia, and I can help you understand and learn ways to relate to your aging relative.
